Below is a list of the medications Dad is currently taking. We are also tracking dosage, frequency, etc. but for purposes of the blog I will just post a list. Let me know if there are any questions about any of them. There is a mixture of prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
Once a day, taken in the morning:
- Stool softener and laxative
- Magnesium
- Vitamin B6
- Aspirin
- Finasteride (generic for Proscar)
- Centrum Silver
- Folic Acid
Twice a day, morning and evening:
Once a day, taken in the evening:
- Niaspan
- Flomax
- Zolpidem (generic for Ambien)
As needed:
- Mucinex DM
- Vicadin
- Fentanyl (generic for Duragesic)
- Nexium
- Dexameth (generic for Decadron)
- Rhinocort Aqua
Is the Zolpidem (Ambien) helping Dad to sleep throughout the night? If not, then he should request the "CR" version for "continuous release".
ReplyDeleteI'm familiar with most of these meds, and I could google the rest. Would anyone else benefit from knowing dosages and also the purpose of each med?
Good grief, I would think that Dad gets "full" by just taking all his pills!
Kev, Thanx so much for doing this update on JD.
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate this info so much...
Love to all
Let me know if anyone wants to know the purposes or dosages and I will post it here.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Ambien, yes, he has been sleeping better than he has for months for the past several days.
